Lucille "Lucy" Rodgers, 76, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Carmi, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at the Heritage Center in Evansville, Ind.

She was born Nov. 5, 1934 in Hamilton County, the daughter of James and Fannie (Burnett) Russell. She married Marley Willard Rodgers Feb. 22, 1957, and he preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1991. She was a member of the Tennessee Bend Baptist Church in Herald. She was a homemaker and a special education teacher at Brownsville School for 25 years.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Bob Bradley and Sara and Keith Hon of Crossville; a son, Dan Rodgers of Herald; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Leon Harris of Norris City; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Russell of Coulterville; four grandchildren, Bethany and Chris Bloodworth, Daniel and Theresa Bradley, Lewis Hon and Olivia Hon; two great-grandchildren, Katlyn Bloodworth and Easton Bradley; and a stepgreat-grandchild, Tory Bloodworth.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with Lowell Tison officiating. Burial will be in Herald Cemetery near Carmi. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brownsville School and will be accepted at the funeral home.
