Stella was the daughter of Alanson Allyn (1829-1890) and Mary Chalier Allyn (1838-1918). She was born on 13 January 1872 in Posey County, Indiana, USA.

Stella married Lawrence Mills in Posey County on 7 August 1890. No children are known to have been born to this union.

Stella married Lawrence Mills in 1890 and by 1900 he and Stella were living in Gallatin County, Illinois, where they were found in North Fork Township. (census image here)

By 1910 Stella and Lawrence were back in Posey County, this time living in Mount Vernon. Lawrence's niece Edith Pickles showed up with the couple (one of his sister Rachel's daughters) although, oddly enough, she also showed up with her family at home in Gallatin County. (census image here)

By 1920 Stella and Lawrence had moved to Monterey Park in Los Angeles County, California. (census image here)

Stella and Lawrence were still in Monterey Park in 1930, where they apparently lived for the rest of their lives. (census image here)

Stella died on 22 August 1947 in Monterey Park and was buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.

After Stella's death Lawrence married a widow named Clara Ing in 1950. Lawrence died in 1954 and was interred in a wall crypt at Rose Hills next to Stella. Clara died in 1968 and is buried in a plot at Rose Hills next to her first husband Almon Ing.
