Search for people who were buried but not in a traditional cemetery or graveyard. This was split off from 171 in January 2021, that was formerly Non Cemetery Burial or Body Lost or Destroyed but that disposition was changed to Body Lost or Destroyed.

I resisted adding this disposition for so long because it has been misused so badly on Find A Grave (people were being entered under this disposition who should have been entered as Burial Location Unknown, which I code as 37). I noticed recently that Find A Grave no longer allows this as a disposition, it is no longer an option.

This disposition is ONLY for people who are known to have been buried NOT in a cemetery or graveyard AND the exact location is unknown. If a location is known for a burial, scattering or inurnment that location can and should be added as a "cemetery", even if it's not an actual cemetery or graveyard.
