Rebecca was born ca. 1794 in Kentucky, USA, the daughter of
Job Downen (1768 - 1842) and Mary Elizabeth Robinson (1769 - 1856).
Rebecca married Samuel Oliver (1793 - 1840), but the date and place of the marriage are unknown.
Rebecca and Samuel had the following children:
James Oliver (1819 - Unknown)
Job Oliver (1820 - 1911)
John M. Oliver (1825 - Unknown)
Cynthia E. Oliver (1827 - Unknown)
Johnson Oliver (1827 - Unknown)
Joseph Manuel Oliver (1829 - 1901)
As of the 1850 census, Rebecca lived in Robinson Township, Posey County, Indiana, USA, along with her son John. (census image here) (View neighbors in HTML)
As of the 1870 census, Rebecca lived with her son Job and his family in Center Township, Posey County. (census image here)
Rebecca disappears from the historical record after 7 September 1870, when she was counted along with Job's family during the 1870 census. I have been unable to find her in later censuses or in the Indiana death records which begin in 1882. Nor have I been able to find her in the cemetery records of Posey County, although her son Job and his wife Annie are both buried in Mount Zion Cemetery in Posey County.
