I believe Casteel is a prior married name not her maiden name.

There is a record from Los Angeles County in 1982 for a divorce between Cindy L Casteel and Ralph W Casteel.

She has aliases of Cindy L Originale and Cindy L Originales, one of these may be her maiden name.

She married Donald Gene Mathieu in Clark County, Nevada, on 16 November 2003.

She disappeared in August 2004, the death date on her marker is the date she disappeared.

Her disappearance was considered suspicious but apparently no arrests were ever made.

In September 2007 her remains were found near Santiago Canyon Road, although they were not positively identified through dental records until August 2008.

The Forest Lawn website lists her death date as 6 September 2007, I am guessing this is either when her remains were discovered or when they were received by the local coroner's office.

Apparently her family had no further contact with her widower after 2005. I am guessing the fact that her prior surname is on her grave marker is due to the family being unable to rule out the possibility that her widower was connected to her disappearance and subsequent death.
