For being a well known actress at the time, I'm surprised how garbled her details have become over time.

Her biological father was named Moreland but I'm not sure what his first name was. I tracked down her mother and have linked her in the relationships section.

Her mother remarried after divorcing her biological father and Diana ended up taking the surname of her stepfather (that's where the "Miller" comes from). She was married twice that I know of, once to William Boyd ("Hopalong Cassidy") and again to George Melford, another well known actor and director.

If you look at her paper records some show her maiden name as Moreland and others show Miller.

Apparently she contracted tuberculosis and spent the end of her life in a sanitarium/sanitorium in Monrovia, where she passed away.

There were two Find A Grave memorials for her. The lower numbered one (the "famous" one) was not in the correct cemetery, my guess is that it was wrongly placed in Valhalla in North Hollywood rather than Forest Lawn Glendale (or it was a burial unknown). I created a second memorial for her on Find A Grave in the correct cemetery that showed the plot location as Sunrise Slope in Forest Lawn, next to her mother in law Henrietta Knauff.

The "famous" memorial recently popped up in Forest Lawn, so my guess is that it was moved from wherever it had been to Forest Lawn in late 2020 or early 2021. Since Find A Grave doesn't have any kind of public audit trail on changes it's impossible to know when it was moved. For a while both memorials coexisted in the same cemetery, but as of January 2022 the higher numbered memorial has been merged into the famous memorial. Which shouldn't have happened, because the site rules say the memorial in the correct cemetery is always considered the original memorial, but they do seem to break the rules quite often when it comes to "famous" memorials, and they break the rules plenty of other times for other memorials when they feel like it.

The Find A Grave memorial also has a stupid mistake on it. Diana was born in Seattle, Washington, but when someone was trying to add that to her memorial they picked the first "Seattle" that came up, which is a place name in Find A Grave for Seattle Heights in Snohomish County, Washington. You really have to pay attention sometimes on Find A Grave to make sure you're choosing the correct place name when you add a birth or death place.
