Louise was the daughter of Clarence Marsland and Mary LaFrance. She was married first to Albert W. LeRoy, with whom she had a son, Judson Calkins LeRoy. I haven't found her in the 1910 census, but by then she must have been married to George Melford.

Frequently the name "Knauff" pops in as a kind of middle name for her. I believe this is because George Melford's legal name (Melford was his stage name) was actually Knauff. So it's possible when they were first married she was going by "Mrs. Knauff" instead of "Mrs. Melford". Eventually she simply became Mrs. Melford.

After 1920 she and George were divorced (he subsequently married Diana Miller but she died in 1927, quite young) and it looks like George was living with Louise again after Diana's death. He was, however, demoted from husband to "roomer".

After Louise died in 1942 George apparently married again, but I am still tracking down the details on that wife, who apparently outlived him.
