Surname was originally spelled Patchett, not Padgett. Not sure when it was changed.

His marker says he was born in Bennington, but the 1851 UK census says he was born in Doddington. He and his family were living in Bennington in 1851, which is actually Long Bennington.

There is a Dry Doddington near Long Bennington, which is probably his actual birthplace. However, there is a village called Doddington in the district of North Kesteven, next to the district of South Kesteven where Long Bennington is located. So it is possible he was born in Doddington not Dry Doddington. However, my money is on Dry Doddington.

In any event, I am going to canonically list his birthplace as Lincolnshire, since that is not in dispute.
