Her social security application shows her mother's maiden name as Pinzon. Her mother was from Colombia and had a dual surname; her mother's father was Forero and her mother's mother was Pinzon. So Pinzon is actually Maria's maternal grandmother's maiden name.

Maria's name is in the same format, she was also born in Colombia and her name can be styled Torres Forero or Torres-Forero (the SS DMF and her social security application both show her surname as Torres Forero, with a space separator not a hyphen)

The SS application shows her birthplace as El Guamo, Colombia. There seem to be several places in Colombia with this name so I have no idea which it might be.

I am not absolutely certain that Dyhna (or Dhyna) Garcia is Maria's cousin, but it seems likely that is the relationship based on the information I have found. I know Maria is Sara's daughter and I believe Dyhna is Maria's aunt Mariela's daughter.

When I scraped the Forest Lawn website in 2011-2012 her name was there. When I realized her name is not on the marker with her relatives I checked the FL site again and her name no longer appears. That doesn't mean much as sometimes they take names off the website for people who are still buried or inurned there.

At the time I scraped the Forest Lawn website this information did not show up, but now it does. There is now a suffix on the niche number. Her relatives in the niche have been assigned A - C and the letter E, so the D suffix either belongs or belonged to Maria's urn.

I'd like to check her mother's niche now (as in this year) and see if perhaps Maria has been moved to her mother's niche. I'll put that on my list the next time I check out the Dawn of Tomorrow section at Forest Lawn Glendale.

2022/04/13. I did get over to Dawn of Tomorrow almost two weeks ago, and Maria is in fact with her mother now. I will either attach a marker photo or transcribe it depending on the quality of the photo (the niche is fairly high up so I used a telephoto lens but my camera is old and the image stabilization doesn't work with some of my lenses).

BTW, Forest Lawn DOES list her on the website now, but they have changed her surname from Torres-Forero to Torres. Either way is legitimate, but I find the inconsistency maddening.

I am updating her inurnment location to change her from the Columbarium of Blessedness to the Columbarium of Certainty. My guess is she was in the former location at one time and her urn was moved, but who knows?
