Regina Norman obituary (Legacy dot Com)

The name Regina means: "queen". (And she was that!)

Regina was born on December 24, 1937 to the marital union of James and Earlean Williams. She was their first born and the older sibling to her younger brother, Archie Williams.

Regina grew up on the south side of Chicago, where she attended Wendell Phillips Elementary School. She was raised first by her grandmother and then later by her Uncle Earl Pleasant. Regina attended Dunbar High School and was elected prom queen, before her graduation. After graduation, she worked for an upscale men's clothing store, Hart Schaffner and Marx. While employed there, she met many lifelong friends. Regina was extremely talented and could sew her own clothes. She would make clothing for her friends as well. She and her friend, Judy, would hang out with a motorcycle club, called The Rolling Knights. She loved motorcycles and cars.

Regina met a man in Chicago named Jesse Norman Jr. They would become husband and wife in 1969 and shared 39 years of marriage together, until his death in 2008. Regina would become the proud stepmother to Jesse III, Robin and Kathy. After a few years of the cold and snow in Chicago, Regina and Jesse relocated to Southern California, living first in Carson and Lakewood and eventually moving to Buena Park. Their son Earl Allan Norman was born in 1972.

During this time, Jesse worked for Frito Lay and Hostess Cakes. Regina became a loved member of the community. She was a stay at home mom, room mother and school volunteer. She would baby sit kids in the neighborhood as well as grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was an active helper and team mom for many of Earl's sports teams, especially soccer. Her generous and caring nature made the Norman Residence a home base, for a myriad of family and friends. Regina took pride in the Super Bowl Parties that she and Jesse would host. Guests had so much fun attending them. She was a special person to so many people who loved her.

Regina is survived by her brother Archie, her stepchildren: Jesse III (Darlene), Robin, Kathy (Bobby), her son, Earl, her grandchildren: Brittany (Brandon), Nick, Steven, Vijah, Lillea, Jesse IV, Alanna. She also leaves her great grandchildren, Bryce and Vonn. Regina leaves behind nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as her god daughter, Danielle Hopson-Daniels. She leaves a host of family and friends, all who celebrated her life on Earth and now, her life eternal.
