I was looking at her grave marker on Sunrise Slope a couple of weeks ago and noticed she had a "famous" memorial on Find A Grave. I found her father next to her and was doing a little digging (pardon the expression) into the family history for them.

One thing I noticed that bothered me is that a number of people (including the person who wrote the Wikipedia article on her) seem to think her mother was Estella/Stella Louise Hayden. I don't know why they think this because all the records I've seen show her mother as Fannie Ellen Hayden. Unless someone has some information I am not privy to, the links I show on this page are correct. Estella/Stella Louise Hayden Haggarty was Helen's aunt, not her mother. The Oregon birth records which I will copy below show Fannie as her mother, and Helen's death certificate also shows Fannie as her mother.

I'm not going to pursue this any farther than I already have, but I am noting this information and attaching it to Helen's record.

Unfortunately this page also seems unclear on Estella/Stella being Helen's aunt rather than her mother (it lists both her aunt and her mother with their names separated by a slash). I may send them a link to this page and see if they ever look at it and update their page on Helen.

I haven't checked all the sites but at least some list her birth date as 26 April 1916 but the official Oregon record shows 29 April 1926 instead. It also shows the spelling of her middle name, which some other sites have spelled differently. I'm going to adjust my records to this information on the assumption that it is correct.

I don't know why so many sites are having such trouble with her father's middle name. It is Thomas and his middle initial should be the letter T, but the Forest Lawn grave locator lists his middle initial as "P" and the Oregon birth records for his daughter Helen list his middle initial as "L". The early records all show T or Thomas or some variant thereof, but the Illinois death records show the "P" instead for some reason, which is where Forest Lawn may have gotten that information.

The next time I'm in that area of Sunrise Slope I will try and get a decent marker photo of her and her father's markers. (Conditions were not favorable for that area the last time I was there, which is why I just transcribed the markers). Unfortunately there is no way to get a marker photo for Helen's mother Fannie, according to the Forest Lawn records she is in the Utility Columbarium, which is basically a very large storage room in the Great Mausoleum with no public access.

It took me five and a half months to get back there but I did finally get an OK marker photo for her and her father. At some point I will look up some of the movies she was in and see if any of them merit adding keywords into the system which I can then link her to, as well as any other actors, directors, etc., that might have been involved with those films.
